ZEF Solutions was founded to enable more effective school improvement projects. In the late 90's, Professor Esko Alasaarela was working with numerous schools to build sustainable, high quality learning environments. While working with some of the best schools in Finland, he developed a new participatory survey method that enabled all teachers, students and parents to participate in the school development process. The schools he worked with responded enthusiastically, and the word started spreading. By 2001, the school development projects were so popular that a company was founded to serve the demand. Today ZEF Solutions is synonymous with visual data instruments producing insightful information.

The ZEF-method has been received in its native Finland with high reviews, high response rates, and high interest. It has won innovation awards. University studies have shown that the method provides more relevant and actionable results than the traditional survey techniques. We believe that the real proof lies in the actual results. ZEF is developed by true experts

The ZEF method was developed by Professor Esko Alasaarela. The user interface is designed by Red Dot Design Award winning designer Mika Nenonen. The quality of ZEF content is assured by former ISO standard committee member Juhani Anttila.ZEF is under continuous development in cooperation with researchers at the University of Lapland.
